Expression of Interest (EOI) Temporary Residencies Available

Glen Innes Severn Council (GISC) invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local artisans, community groups and schools, to the ‘Local Temporary Residency at the Visitor Information Centre Pop-Up Shop’ program.

The program of residencies will be based at the Visitor Information Centre side shop, 152 Church Street, Glen Innes.

These residencies will be an opportunity for local artisans, small arts and craft businesses, schools and community groups to develop and sell their creative work, raise money for their community group and other activations while connecting with the community and visitors.

Each residency will be intended for a two to four week tenure and only operate during the Visitor Information Centre business hours.

9am to 5pm Monday to Friday

9am to 3pm Saturday

9am to 1pm Sunday

The successful applicant/s selected for residence will be required to pay a weekly rental space of $50 a week. The space is for the display and/or sale of quality artisan handmade products. This opportunity is only available to residents, community groups, education providers, businesses and not-for-profit organisations located in the Glen Innes Severn local government area.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The ‘Local Temporary Pop-Up Residency’ aims to give local artisans, local community groups, not-for-profit organisation, education provider or creative business an opportunity to have a space to:

  • Provide creative practitioners a space to explore, sell and expand their arts and crafts.
  • Provide creative practitioners an opportunity within the Visitor Information Centre’s precinct to sell their products, raise funds for not for profits or engage the community.
  • Highlight local Glen Innes talent to the Glen Innes community and to visitors therefore by adding to their experience.
  • Use creativity to bring life back to this unique shop space.
ELIGIBILITY
Handmade Products

Artists, artisan co-ops, schools or community groups. Applications are also welcome from partnerships and collaborations. Applicants must live or be registered in the Glen Innes Severn Local Government Area. Applicants will need their own public Liability Insurance.

Applicants must complete the EOI below in Annexure A and return to Council with any supporting documents.

Applications are open from 9am Monday 1 September 2023 and will remain open to allow for scheduling of different residents throughout the year.

Applications will be assessed by the Tourism and Events Officer and the Visitor Information Centre Team.
