Roads Consultative Committee
The Roads Consultative Committee is part of Council's strategy to have open lines of communication with stakeholders, and to be a responsive Local Government body, addressing issues in a pro-active, non-bureaucratic fashion. Input from people with local knowledge of specific problem areas allows Council to spend its limited funds in the very best way. It also lets residents have an input into where "Roads to Recovery" funding from the Commonwealth Government is used.
The Committee consists of interested residents, staff, and councillors, and has input into issues such as:
- unsealed road grading practices and schedules;
- gravel resurfacing programs;
- other maintenance tasks such as drainage and vegetation maintenance.
The Committee meets at the William Gardner Conference Room at the Glen Innes Library and Learning Centre, 71 Grey Street Glen Innes. The meetings are held on the third Thursday of every three (3) months (February, May, August and November) and commence at 10.00am.
Residents wishing to nominate to become a member of the Committee may call Council's Department of Infrastructure Services on 6730 2371 to enquire.
