It’s wheels down at Glen Innes Airport, with major upgrade works now complete and the runway back in action.
The airport fully reopened on Monday, 14 April 2025 following essential improvements, including:
Mayor Davis and Acting Director of Infrastructure Services, Tony Kamphorst were on site yesterday to welcome the
Royal Flying Doctor Service NSW / ACT who touched down on the brand new runway.
These improvements will enhance the safety, functionality and resilience of the airport - supporting essential services and future opportunities for Glen Innes and the broader region.
This project was jointly funded by the NSW Government’s Severe Weather and Floods Grant, the Infrastructure Betterment Fund, along with the Australian Government’s Regional Airports Program.
