MAYOR AND DEPUTY MAYOR ELECTED FOR GLEN INNES SEVERN

Councillor Margot Davis has been elected as Glen Innes Severn Council’s new Mayor, with Councillor Carol Sparks elected as Deputy Mayor.

Cr Davis said she was looking forward to working with the newly elected Council and staff to deliver for the people of Glen Innes Severn.

"I’m honoured to have the opportunity to serve as Mayor and represent the people of Glen Innes Severn. I look forward to working closely with my fellow Councillors, the staff and the community to continue advocating for and building on the strengths of our region," Cr Davis said.

Today’s Ordinary Council Meeting (Thursday, 10 October 2024) saw Councillors take their oath/affirmation following the Local Government Elections on 14 September 2024.

As elected by the residents of Glen Innes Severn, the following Councillors took the Oath of Office:

  • Timothy Alt
  • Troy Arandale
  • Rob Banham
  • Margot Davis
  • Max Elphick
  • Andrew Parsons
  • Carol Sparks

The new Councillors, Mayor and Deputy Mayor were welcomed and congratulated by the General Manager, Bernard Smith and all staff.

The next meeting of Council will be Thursday, 24 October 2024.
