SAVE THE DATE: CHRISTMAS IN THE HIGHLANDS IS COMING TO TOWN!

Get ready for an even bigger celebration as Christmas in the Highlands returns to Glen Innes on Friday, 29 November 2024! This key event in the Glen Innes Town Centre will fill Grey Street with festive cheer, inviting residents and visitors to kick off the holiday season in the Glen Innes Highlands.

Glen Innes Severn Council Mayor Margot Davis said, “Christmas in the Highlands is not just a highlight of the year for Glen Innes Severn; it’s a vibrant celebration of community spirit and shared prosperity. This festive season provides a unique opportunity for us to come together, embrace our traditions, and strengthen the bonds that make our place special.”

“It’s also a time to support and uplift our local businesses, ensuring they thrive during this important retail season. By shopping locally, we contribute to the growth and vitality of our town, setting the stage for a prosperous future while enjoying the magic of Christmas in our beautiful Highlands.”

“This year, we're thrilled to announce the expansion of our Christmas celebration along Grey Street, stretching from Meade Street to Wentworth Street. This is a step forward in fostering a sense of belonging and shared joy for everyone,” said Cr Davis.

With this year’s event promising to be bigger and better, highlights include:

  • Highlands Markets and Food Stalls
  • Opening of the Red Cross Christmas Tree Exhibition
  • Light up the Town Centre and Christmas Tree
  • Kids activities
  • Visit from Santa Claus
  • Glen Innes Business Chamber - Spend In Glen Promotion
  • Late Night Shopping
  • Live Entertainment

Stallholders, artisans, and producers are encouraged to get involved in the 2024 Highlands Markets, with applications still open. Interested parties can apply before Thursday, 31 October 2024 to secure their spot.
