Glen Innes Severn Council is set to host a range of exciting events for Youth Week 2025, taking place from 9–17 April. The program, coordinated by The Youth Booth, will offer young people the chance to participate in fun and skill-building events, connect with their peers and engage with their community.
The 2025 Youth Week theme, "We are the future, and the future is now," will feature a variety of events designed for local youth aged 12 and over, including:
- Gaming Night – Friday 11 April, 6pm–8.30pm
- Movie Night – Saturday 12 April, 6pm–9pm
- Inflatable Fun Day – Monday 14 April, 10am–2pm
- Willows Cultural Walk – Wednesday 16 April, 10am–2.30pm
Glen Innes Severn Council Mayor Margot Davis highlighted the significance of youth participation in community programs.
"Youth Week is a fantastic opportunity for our young people to have unique experiences, connect, have fun. Whether it's gaming, movies, outdoor activities or cultural experiences, these events help build confidence, friendships, and a stronger sense of community."
Youth Week 2025 has been made possible through joint funding from the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and Council. The funding for these activities is part of a wider NSW Government initiative to support youth-led programs across the state. Glen Innes Severn Council is proud to work with the NSW Government to offer meaningful opportunities for local youth.
The youth-driven initiative aims to strengthen community connections while providing valuable leadership and event management experience for local young people. All activities will be hosted at various locations throughout Glen Innes, making them accessible to the broader community.
